CEREMONIES
As a Commonwealth-registered Civil Marriage Celebrant, I'm qualified to perform non-religious ceremonies, anywhere in Australia... how we do it, is up to you!
THE LEGAL STUFF
Although my approach is always personalised and casual, there are of course some formalities as required by law. My goal is to keep these as simple as possible, and I'm here to help you at every step of the way.
Prior to the Ceremony
-
We'll complete a Notice of Intended Marriage and a Declaration of No Legal Impediment to Marriage, which basically ensures you're not already married or related. I'll bring these with me to our second meeting.
-
If either party have been married before, they will need to provide evidence of death, nullity, or disolution.
-
To complete all the paperwork, you'll each need to bring along two forms of ID (Passport, Drivers License and/or Birth Certificate).
During & Post Ceremony
-
There are specific words we'll legally have to say on the day, but don't worry, I'll make sure this works in nicely with your personalised ceremony.
-
On the day, we'll sign three Marriage Certificates. One for you, one for me, and the third I send off to the government within 14 days of the ceremony.
